Does the Higher Wisdom Contained in the Bible Prove that it is Inspired?

There is no denying that a lot of the things that Jesus said, that King David said, that King Solomon said and other Bible writers said qualifies as cutting-edge psychology and can be used to heal oneself and others, to improve relationships, achieve mental peace and so on.

For example, a passage in the book of James reads: "every man must be swift about hearing and slow about speaking". This short sentence gets to the core of how effective communication works.

Another example of cutting-edge psychology is in the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus explained why people project their weaknesses onto others, by pointing to our tendency to overlook the rafter in our own eye while demonizing the straw in other people's eye.

Another remarkable piece of wisdom is the idea that instead of rendering evil for evil we'd better conquer evil with acts of kindness, as treating someone who is treating us lousy in a kind way buys a lot.

And the list could go on for hours.

So it might seem, for someone who hasn't read anything aside from the Bible, that the Bible is inspired by God because of it's undeniably higher wisdom.

But the reality is that outstanding wisdom can also be found in other religious or even non-religious textbooks.

People like Lao Tsu, the Buddha and many others come to mind.

However, while many of these books amount to nothing more than a collection of very wise, and even life-transforming, gems of higher wisdom, the Bible is more than just a self-help book.

For example the Bible contains remarkable statements that qualify, beyond the shadow of a doubt, as prophecy.

For example on one occasion, while a widow was pouring oil on Jesus' feet, or something like that, Jesus said that what that woman did would have become known worldwide.

And, when Jesus made that statement, there was no radio, no TV, no internet, no fast ways of travelling and spreading a news like that worldwide, so how could Jesus possibly have made this claim and with that much certainty?

This is just an example out of many.

What about for example the prophecy that goes "this good news of the Kingdom will be spread in all inhabited earth"? Again, when Jesus made that claim there was no technology nor any other methods to mass spread a very local religion like the one Jesus had shared with a handful of people in a little corner of planet Earth. How could he possibly know that his message would eventually reach millions of people worldwide?

So, if we just take one of the characteristics that make the Bible remarkable, such as its higher wisdom, as an isolated fact we can't prove much, as there are other books that meet similar standards, but if we combine that isolated factor with other unique ones then we are putting together a very solid web of evidence that the Bible is not just an "enlightened" book out of many but something else.
